Desperation
poem by: Danielle Steel

 | Strangers | No Choice | Friend | Recapture the Dream | Desperation | Regret |
 | Crash into my Life | On the Riverbank | Boat come In, Tide go Out | Someday |

In desperation
   I counted
      on my fingers
         whom to call,
to turn to,
    reach out for,
        cling to.
Seven, eight,
    nine
       people
          to hold
              close....
nine,
   seven,
      four,
        none.
Mistaken
     I had been
         in desperation,
    finding that
        others wouldn't
            do.
I only
    wanted
           him.
