David's Antique Radio Room

Notes:

General Electric Musaphonic model 870 circa 1960. This set features a big six inch speaker which puts out a lot of bass, tone control, and a phono jack on the back of the set to plug in a phonograph so one can play records using the Musaphonic's speaker for output. The phono input was popular on radios in the 1950's as a cheap alternative to purchasing a separate hi-fi set. The "two-level" styling of the 870's case is similar to the case of the Westinghouse H-702T5A.
The Musaphonic was essentially dead when I purchased it, but it was recently restored by Scott at Midwest Antique Radio Service and now plays beautifully. Now I just need to find an old phonograph to plug in to the 870 so I can listen to my 45's in real '50's style!
