David's Antique Radio Room

Notes:

General Electric model 400. Nothing too exciting about this set, it's just a "Plain Jane" bakelite set from the early 1950's. The radio's rounded corners do give the set a modern, streamlined look, however. The GE 400 features General Electric's "dial beam" tuning: a light behind the radio dial follows the dial pointer when the tuner is moved from one frequency to another. Looks really cool in a darkened room!
I picked this set up on eBay for $9.99, replaced the 50C5 power amplifier tube, and it works great. This is a LOUD radio with more than enough audio to fill a room or two.
