Notes:
General Electric model 102. Since it was made in 1948, the 102 doesn't really qualify as a 1950's set, but I like it anyway. Like the GE 400, the 102 has a bakelite case and loud, crisp audio which makes it a pleasure to listen to. However, the 102 has five loctal tubes instead of the three miniature and two loctal tubes found in the GE 400. The radio manufacturing industry was in a state of flux in the early 1950's, which is demonstrated by the different tube compliments of the GE 102 and GE 400 models. The miniature tubes which became common in the early 1950's made it possible for manufacturers to make smaller radios.
