| GUIDELINES FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO STATE/DISTRICT LEVEL SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS APPROVED BY THE GOVERNMENT IN CONSULTATION WITH FINANCE DEPARTMENT.page #2 |
| Annual Plan State Level Associations | The existing State level Sports Associations are required to formulate their respective annual plan and furnish one copy of the plan to the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Sports latest by the 2nd Week of April every year indicating the State tournament & Coaching programme which will be organised during the year and the state team with the size of the team which will be sent for National participation with detailed financial implications. Financial assistance for participation in the National Championship not included in the annual plan of the Association will not ordinarily be granted. | Holding of General Elections | To consider for extending financial assistance the State Level Sports Association are required to hold general elections after the expiry of the terms/tennure of the existing office bearers. |
| Participation in National level Championships |
i) State teams may be sent take part in National Level Championship
only when by physical conditions, coaching & practice they attain the standard
required for such competitions.
The minimum standard required for participation in various categories of
National Championship would be as follows:-

| Selection for participation in National Championship |
i)The State level Sports Association shall organise inter District Level Championship/
tournament for the purpose of the selection of team for National participation. For the purpose
of financial assiatance, at least 6 teams shall participate in the district level tournament
whereas one each from at least five districts of the State shall participate in the
State level tournament. However, in case no State level tournament is organised for
selection of State team due to shortage of time, a trial selection test should at least be organised
2(weeks) before departure for National participation inviting players from all over the State
through wide publicity well in advance . ii) The final selection of the State contingent/team will be conducted by a committee in which the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports is represented by an Officer not below the rank of a Deputy Director. iii)While making the selection the Committee shall strictly adhere to minimum norms of physical fitness, skill and performance level laid down under guidelines 7(1)(a),(b) & (c) above. The official nominee and the coach shall submit their report direct to the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Sports regarding the fairness of the selection procedure adopted and also their assesment on the expected performance of the Sports persons/teams for the events. iv)A medical and fitness test for the players shall be conducted before and after the selection test and the fitness certificte duly countersigned by C.M.O. shall be furnished to the Department along with the application for financial assistance. v) The State level Sports Associations are required to inform the Department well in advance of the date and venue of the final selection so that the Departmental representative may be sent in time. go toprevious page|next page |
