With great seats in the pit terrace we were able to look at
some pit action. Jeremy Mayfield coming in for his first stop of the
day!!
Steve Park's pit stall was one behind Mayfield. This was his first stop of the day
Here was Dick Trickle leaving his car after the first caution
for a replacement driver. I wish I could remember his name!!! I believe he led some laps
too!!!
When a caution came out the Childress teammates decided to pit a little ahead of schedule so they would be in good position when the leaders came in for their green flag stop with about 30 laps left. This was a gamble on fuel as they would try to finish after this stop. Here they are going down pit road together.
Here is Rick Mast's final stop. This was
directly in front of us. The jack man on the team is actually from the county that I live in and is
around many of the local tracks. He gave me 2 lug nuts off the tires for my boys. Note th ecan of gas
in the left corner, as it was being put in the car it caught fire. I missed getting it by about a 1/2
second!!!!
