Guadarrama mountains

ET OF MOUNTAINS
placed in the north-eastern area of Central System, well-known as Madrid mountains
because of the proximity to the capital. It is located in the provinces of Segovia, Avila and Madrid.
The highest peak is Peñalara with 2.430 m. and the dominant vegetation consist of oaks,
ash trees and wild pine trees mainly.
It necessary to emphasize that the Valsain's forests are probably the most important places
covered by wild pine tree, where it is also performed an exemplary exploitation of their wood.
