New
Zealand
An jeder Ecke standen
mehrere Generatoren, welche ein halbwegs normales Leben in der Metropole ermöglichten.
Am dritten Tag nach Andys und meiner Ankunft trennten wir uns, ich
reiste mit Lizzy weiter, die Höhepunkte unserer Reise in Enlisch (for my friens in NZ):
Sa 7-3-98, Auckland: My dear Lizzy arrived
around 13:45 at the City Backpackers in Auckland. I couldnt believe that you were
here, it was so great to see you again. We went to the beach to discus some things. For
dinner we went to the Thai restaurant, and finally to the seafront disco.
So 8-3-98, Whitianga: Early in the morning we went up and drove to the Coromandel
island. (Thames-Coromandel-Whitianga). After a useless stop in the i-center, we drove over
a very dirty road to Whitianga (Liz nearly crashed my brand new car....), and there we
went to the beach by a fairy. In the evening we went inline skating.
Mo 9-3-98, Rotorua: First we drove to the
amazing hot water beach, where all the stupid tourist started digging holes into the
sand... The Cathedral Cave walk was the next stop, really beautiful I think. After
checking-in in Rotorua we went to the hot water Spa. After dinner and a beer in the pub
back to downtown backpackers.
Tu 10-3-98, Rotorua: We went white water rafting! The rafting was really cool, 3
waterfalls and one was about 7 meters high !! Amazing.
We 11-3-98, Rotorua: We walked round the city and we went the have a lock at the
waterfalls we rafted yesterday. Ludge riding was the point of the day, I just remember
Lizzy screaming "where are the breaks ...", but you were lucky and didnt
crash like the other girl......
Th 12-3-98, Napier: Weather wasnt to bad this day, we stored our baggage in the
hostel and went to this tourist tour to Taupo. The guy who organised this tours
wasnt very gentle to you, but my strong Lizzy stroke back.... We saw a lot, all the
craters, geysiers and the beautiful landscape. In the evening we traveled to Napier were
we found a room in the YHA.
Fr 13-3-98, Napier: The city was destroyed by an Earthquake about 60 years ago,
and now it looks very pretty styled in Art Deco. The way to the Cape Kidnappers
wasnt very successful, because the path run out 8 km before!
Sa 14-3-98, Wellington: After driving through
Hastings we arrived in Wellington. But there was no chance to get a free accommodation.
Everything was booked because of the museum and some open airs. At the end we were in a
very beautiful bed & breakfast room by a private woman. In the evening we went out in
the second largest city of New Zealand. And in a Bar we all of a suddan ran into Andy, was
very funny after one week without him.
So 15-3-98, Wellington: We feeled like normal tourists this day, cause we visited the
parliament, the national museum and some shops in Wellington. The weather was very cold in
Wellington. In the evening we eated in a B.Y.O. restaurant.
Mo 16-3-98, Wanganui: We drove to Wanganui, a very boring city were its
impossible to get some food after 10 p.m.
We 18-3-98, New Plymouth: We spent 3 days there. A very exciting beach with black sand
and you can see from there the Mt. Egmont with its snow on the top.
Sa 21-3-98, Hamilton: The last days of our NZ trip we were in Hamilton. Visiting the
National parks and other tourist things.
Mo 23-3-98, Auckland: A huge party night to
celebrate in the streets of Auckland, the next morning Lizzy left New Zealand...... a very
sad story at the airport about one year ago.
Tu 24-3-98: I was alone now, but I left Auckland one more time to travel the most
northest part of the island. First stop Whangaraei with its "Hole in the Rock"
and other beautiful natural things like islands. I met some nice people from canada, japan
and netherlands there.
We 25-3-98, Northerland forset park: I drove round the cost, nearly to the end of NZ,
called Cape Reinga, and in the evening bakc to Auckland.
Fr 27-3-98, Auckland: I met Andy there and we had to tell us many intresting things
from our different trips. The last 3 nights we partied all the time and the thought about
going home came nearer and nearer........
Mo 30-3-98, Auckland Airport: The story's end. I will go back!
