Tarana

The Word: A worthy granite crag.
Sun/shade: Both all day.
Wet weather options: None.
Style of Climbs: Bolted slabs mainly, from 15-80m. Take a rack though.
Grades: 13-23
Best Route(s): Fuzzy Navel (** 18).

The Details: Sydney's token granite daytrip is in fact a pretty nice granite crag. It would be much more popular if the Blueys weren't an hour closer to Sydney! A bit smaller than I expected, but that makes for excellent descents. The bolts here are few and far between - don’t jump in at your limit.

Access: 20min uphill walk. 2.5hrs drive from Sydney - just manageable as a daytrip, though an overnight stay is a bit less tiring.

* Up the Nose of Love 30m 17 (OS)
Solid 17, and with only 3 carrots, it’s also a real head game. Nice and sustained to the crux at the 2nd carrot, and tough again past the 3rd. Belay off a single FH at the top.

* Honey I Shrunk the Kids 25m 21 (YP)
A really sweet move over the overlap, then more simply.

Jika Jika 30m 17 (YP)
Demanding on the footwork past first bolt.

Jailbreak From H-Block 33m 17 (YP)
A good intro to this crag. Sweet to the pockets, then thin past the bulge and more easily to the top.
