Zigzag - Blue Mountains

** Taipan Variant 20m 16
The father of Australian climbing? Legendary Bryden Allen cranking out the roof at age 58.

Taipan Variant

** Fer De Lance 30m 18 (OS)
A fine climb. Taipan follows the thin crack up the face on the right, and the variant 2nd pitch (which the above photo shows Bryden on) heads out above where I am in the righthand shot and left onto that buttress - airy eh?!

Me delaying the layback for as long as possible! A lovely corner crack.
Fer De Lance
Five seconds later, here's me pulling through the overhung laybacking crux.
Fer De Lance

* Catweazel 12m 22
Aesthetic square arete, but tendon tearing moves, as can be seen on this top-down view of me, 5 minutes before I did Fer de Lance!

Cat Weazel
Wagget and Wingnut 12m 23
An awesomely positioned arete high above Catweazel. Unfortunately this route has a crux move about 5 grades harder than any other move, so it pretty much sux to climb. This is Andrew leading it.

Wagget and Wingnut
* Van 25m 16 (OS)
A stylish arcing crack - no its not as juggy as it looks, its just the angle of the sunlight!

Me halfway up squinting as the sun comes over the wall. The lady behind is on Winkle (12).
Van
A good view of the crack. Oh, and always show respect to the cameraman kiddies!!

The Bird

** Dress Rehearsal Rag (first pitch) 15m 18
Cruising up this lovely sustained slab.

Same climb, different time! Mike mid-onsight. How good does that rock look!?!

Dress Rehearsal Rag
** Honey Dip 40m 13 (OS)
Nic seconding me up the stylish corner crack. Watch out for those booming flakes though, and take a few #3,4 camalots . . .
