  • HORSE BACK TREKKING TO THE HEART OF ALTAY - MT.BELUKHA



    ITINERARY

    Day 1. Arrival to Novosibirsk. Transfer to hotel Ob'. Welcome dinner with a trekking leader.
    Day 2. Flight to Gorno-Altaisk. Minibus drive along the Katun' river gorge to the Holy Spring place. Overnight in tents.
    Day 3. Continue drive up to Tyungur village through the Ust'-Kan valley. Acquaintance with local farms. Overnight in tents.
    Day 4. Horse back trek over the pass Kuzuyak (1513 m). Overnight in tents at the Akkem river.
    Day 5. Continue the trek along the Araktoy river up to the high mountains panorama side. Overnight at hunter's shelters.
    Day 6. Trek over the pass Yarla down to the Akem lake. Overnight at the Base Camp on the lake.
    Day 7-8. Easy walk to the mt.Belukha glacier. Panoramic view of the highest mountain in Siberia. Walk to the Valley of Spirits - a holy mystic place. Walk up the hills to the Seven Lakes. An easy mountain ascent is possible.
    Day 9. Horse back trek over the pass Karatyurek to the Kucherla gorge. Trek down the river to the Shaman Stone place. Overnight in tents.
    Day 10. Return back by horses to Tyungur. Overnight in the Camp.
    Day 11. Reserve day.
    Day 12. Drive to Gorno-Altaisk. Overnight in the town.
    Day 13. Flight to Novosibirsk. Transfer to the hotel.
    Day 14. Departure.

    GETTING TO Novosibirsk:
    By air with Lufthansa, Transaero, Aeroflot via Moscow;
    By transsiberian train via Moscow or Beijing.

    CLIMATE: +15 +25 C, continental climate, occasional rains up the valleys.

    SEASONS: from July to September. The best time to visit is July -August.

    BASIC PERSONAL GEAR: personal trekking gear, waterproof gear, mosquito protection, favorite food staff, sleeping bag, carrymate, leather boots.

    GRADE: moderate.

    STAFF: horses with Russian cavalry saddles, 2 wranglers, luggage horses, trek leader, kitchen crew, interpreter.

    RECOMMENDATIONS: no special riding skills are required, medical injection against enciphalitum is strictly recommended.
