Bow Kills
These are the bucks that we have taken while bowhunting in past years. In Wisconsin and Minnesota the archery season is about three months long, giving bowhunters a lengthy season to take advantage of. Because of the low numbers of hunters in the woods during bow season, the majority of our bowhunting is done on public land.
This early season bowkill was taken by Jordan Dahl. This buck was taken at a distance of 12 yards, the deer traveled only 35 yards after being shot. This shows that a well placed arrow will result in a quick humane kill.
This 10 point buck was taken by Mike Pappas, on the opening day of the 1996 WI bow season. This 120 class buck is an example of what type of deer can be taken on public land.
Here is Mike again with another fine public land buck for the 1997 season. This wide racked 8 point also has good mass and tine length. This buck was taken approximately 2 miles from the buck in the above picture.
Nothing like a bowhunting hat-trick! Here is Mike once again with a great 8 point from the 1998 season. This buck has very nice mass and exceptional tine length, this buck narrowly missed the pope & young minimum of 125". Once again this buck was taken on public land.
