WORK STILL IN PROGRESS BEAR WITH ME
Drakensberg
- General intro A well designed site with some general info. May be the best around.
- Pictures This site has been around for a few years with little in the way of updates. A few poor quality pictures, but well writtern.
- Another big one Have a look around. Not bad with some poor quality pictures. Worth a prowl.
- Marketing site Large, with OK info on the surrounds, but needs a little work. Potential if you want to stay in the area.
South African Outdoors
- Moutain Club of South Africa It may not be too pretty, but its good. For the most comprhensive info available on SA trekking, with extensive links, surf into here.

Trekking
- Light weight hiking guide These pages are huge, and well worth a look, what I also like about them is the fast loading light graphics, no 100k monster pics dragging down the download time.
- Ultimate guide Want to go walking anywhere in the world. Try prowling through this page. Absolutely huge, with info on just about everywhere. If you are planning a trekking trip anywhere, this is the place to start.

Patagonia
Gear
- Macpac The best gear there is. They are a New Zealand based outfit who are incomparable in my experience. The site may not be too flash, but the gear is well........WOW
- Backpacker South Africa's premier outdoor equipment manufacturer, and frankly, one of the worst designed sites on the web. Still, plenty of pages to stroll about. Remember, if you can't read text due to the colour, highlight it
- MSR Those great little multifuel stoves and one of my favourite sites out there. This is what backpackers home page tries to be and fails
- Patagonia Great clothes for extreme conditions. I use their mid weight thermals as my only shirts while hiking, (except in warm climes)and am well impressed. Costly, but great gear.

Cycling
Yeah, almost predictably I ride a mountain bike a lot. And my road bike also seem some use. there are a great big pile of sites, but I like
Other Good Stuff
- The Mountaineers They may be american, but this is one excellent resource. Afterall, these are the guys who put together "Freedom of the Hills" that most sensible and comprehensive book on enjoying mountain environments. Treat yourself, take some time here.
