Greetings,
I'm Uncle Mitch, a once-aspiring recording artist turned white collar worker. Years ago, I wrote songs like they were going out of style and promptly put them on tape before forgetting them. Some songs I actually spent time developing and even sometimes asked friends to provide tracks for, while other songs really never made it past the initial idea stage. In any event, because of the sheer volume of songs I wrote and the fact that there's a bell-shaped curve for just about everything, some of those songs were actually pretty good (at least in my bell-shaped opinion).

Spending all my time writing and making home recordings rather than approaching songwriting as a profession, I never got to the point of shopping any of my songs around before I finally grew up and "got a life", leaving me with boxes of tapes to lug around wherever I went. Eventually, however, I figured out how to capture audio with a computer, and over time I went through some of those old tapes. In doing so, I re-discovered myself as a young "artist", attempting to describe life and love--and sing and play as well as my limited abilities allowed..

If you're a fan of sincere effort and have a sense of humor, I invite you to take a step back in time (and into various venues, such as root cellars, closets, living rooms, bedrooms and even a junior college studio) through the recordings featured on this web site. If you enjoy them, that's great. If you'd like to contact me, you're more than welcome.

Best regards,

Uncle Mitch

P.S. As time goes on, I plan to rotate songs on this site, so please visit again!
