I am a Norwegian Forestcat from Polarheim's

This is my family - father, mother and my sisters and brothers. As five months old I came to my new mistress. My favourite place there is the window where I can look at birds. But why all these foolish flowers where I want to sit? Until now I have putted down four of them.

Polarheim's Polar-Moon is my dad

Polarheim's Unique-lady is my mum

Here I am only a few months old

Here I am the second from left, together with my sisters

Five month old, in my new home

True stories:
Mimmi has shown to be a very special cat.
She loves all technics in the house and tries to find out how they work. A special interest she has shown for my fax that gives a peep sound when she stands on the tangents. Once she called my daughter Annica in Oslo and waked her up in the middle of the night. Because I have a short number to all my most used numbers, it was an easy way to call her up.

*****

As I was unemployed at that time, I was busy with writing applies to various jobs. I was just ready and should write a short comment in the free space. I had just written "Dear Sirs," when Mimmi is jumping up on the keyboard, writing a long -------------------------------- and then sending away my application.
I did not get the job

Facts about Norwegian Forestcats

The Norwegian Forestcat is a big boned, healthy and strong cat. It is very friendly and loves to play. Shortenings of its name are "Wegie" or just "Skogkatt". The Skogkatt's body is long and the legs high. The head is formed as a triangle with a long nose and a straight profile. The big, opened eyes are slightly oblique and this gives the Skogkatt its alert and wild expression. The woolly undercoat is covered by a smooth, water repellent overcoat. The Wegie developes quite slowly and it is not fully grown up before it's 2½ to 3 years old. The male is bigger than the female.

The Norwegian Forestcat has a very nice temperament and gets along well with other cats and animals. It is unafraid and very curious and that is why the Skogkatt rather should be in an enclosure than rove the woods. And it is very easy to teach walking in a leash.

History

The Norwegian Forestcat has a very long history and it is said to be descended from the Vikings' shorthaired cats and the crusaders' to Norway broughted longhaired cats. It has been developed as a consequense of the natural selection; in Norway's cold and strong climate only the biggest and strongest individuals could survive. The Norwegians became intrested in the breed already in 1930-century, but it got FIFe's approving 1977 and at the same time the standard was decided. Nowadays the Skogkatt is a very popular breed around Europe.
