My name is Yasmin Sheikh and I was born on January 8, 1983 in Mogadishu Somalia. I have lived in Toronto for about 16 years. I am currently in my 3rd year, 5th semester at Seneca College in the Marketing Administration Program specializing in Services, Events and Sponsorship Marketing. It has provided me thus far with a dynamic intense integration of strategic marketing concepts and framework. I am very pleased with my studies and plan on furthering my studies to Ryerson University where I will receive a degree in Marketing Administration.
I enjoy various activities and sports very much. I find myself to be a very athletic person. I'm social and pride on helping people with their problems. I've received the City of Toronto Civic Award for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership due to the continuous support to my fellow teacher, students, and community.
My goal is to be a Marketing Consultant / Events Specialist when I graduate this year. I hope I find a job that will meet my objectives as well as theirs. I am sure the knowledge and experience I've gained from my schooling will allow me to function accordingly in an entry level marketing position. I've planned for this by volunteering at a couple of functions. For example, I am an events coordinator volunteer for the first ever Peanut Town Festival Event. This is a Festival for the community living in the area of the Peanut Town Plaza to bring togetherness and community support with one another.
On my free time I enjoy designing web sites, being in the company of my friends and family, and going to the movies/amusement parks. People have told me that I am a great listener and very funny, they'll right. I enjoy making people laugh. I am very blessed to have family members and friends that care about my well being and future goals. Without the constant push of my mother I don't think I would have came this far.
I am very proud of who I am and what I have accomplished and I won't settle for anything but the best.
