TEMPERAMENT

They can be easily kept in a small aquarium, which should ideally be well lit and furnished with plants, large pebbles, rock, Malaysian driftwood or other desired decorations to provide some form of refuge.

My main observation is that they are feisty and seemed more aggressive than the common rams that I have kept. However, no matter how bitter they are towards their own kind, shredded fins are uncommon. If a tankful of juveniles and adults are kept together, you wouldn't want to miss the David & Goliath-like confrontations. While you are completely mesmerized by their fluttering dances and rowdy territorial defence against intruders, be sure to bring along your digital camera and snap a couple of good shots of their agonistic display.

After a hearty meal.
