- Where the Base is situated
- The base is situated on 8 acres of land on the
outskirts of Tema which is in the Greater Accra
region. It is 10 minutes drive to the beach and
20 minutes drive to the Accra International
Airport (Kotoka International Airport), it is a
futher 10 minutes to central Accra, Accra being
the Capital has alot of tourism spots with the
Independance Arch, the ??. Tema itself is an
Industrial Port city with many shops and a lot of
nice resteraunts. It is a fairly well developed
city, with a Golf course & beautiful white
sandy Coconut Tree laden beaches, that strech
along the coast of the South Atlantic Ocean. It
is a short traveling distance to major tourist
attractions, including the Slave Castles and the
Kakum National Reserve - this is a native bush
canopy that you can walk over on swing bridges.
When you travel in the opposite direction you
reach the largest man-made-lake in the world,
Lake Volta, which covers 1/3 of Ghana's land
area, the lake is used to supply electricity to
all of Ghana.
- Ghana also boasts of a very rich lanscape, from
the plains of the Greater Accra Region to the
mountain ranges of the Eastern Region, from the
Desert in the North to the Coast of the Atlantic
and the Tropical rainforest of South Central
Ghana.

- Our accomadation block houses up to 120 staff and
students, with an average of 4 people per room.
We are planning on building new staff flats so
that the students will have more space. At the
moment we have 3 staff houses that are seperated
into 7 different living areas, these host 1/2 the
staff that live on the base.
- We also have two guest houses, one of these is on
the base and
- the other guest house is at Takoradi (Western
Region).
- The bases' guest house is a 5 bedroom house, that
is used for our international and national
speakers and guests, it is also used for housing
outreach teams that come to Ghana. This house is
available to all missionary organisation's and
group's that wish to stay here.
- The Takoradi guest house is a 5 bedroom house,
that is used as an outreach loaction for the DTS
- and any other school, this is open to
international outreaches as well.
- Please contact
us for more details about either of
these two guest houses.

weddings, large group occasions or whatever they
wish, there is also the option that YWAM Ghana

- The Base setting
- The base itself has beautiful surroundings, with
large shadey trees to sit under. It also has
large grass areas to play football (soccer) and a
volleyball net is also set up for all those that
want to enjoy a game or two.
- The water quality here is drinkable tap water.
- There are also water sachets and bottles availbe
to purchase if needed.

- The currency over here is in Cedi's (¢). There
are a large number of Forex Exchanges that can
change your money from major International

Cedi's. If you are traveling to Ghana from
overseas it is suggested that you get an
International VISA card as there is a large
charge for Travelers Cheques and Bank Transfers.
The VISA cards are accepted at most banks and
ATM's and are easily accessable. Mastercards are
not very widely accepted at banks or at ATM's.

- Ghana's Climate
- Ghana's average temperture is 25°C. It has two
seasons, a Dry season which is from January -
April and a Wet season which is from May -
December. It is suggested that you bring light
clothing for you school, (T-Shirt and shorts are
fine, and either jandels or sandals for foot
