Christmas break offered a great time to make some real progress on the plane.  Tammy's Mom and Dad joined us for a  week at the DTRB project headquarters ... and we put them to work.

With all the set-up,  clecoing, drilling, and de-burring complete, we made a final pass on all the internals with the Zinc Chromate primer.  Now the fun begins ... final riveting.  With our handy $25 pneumatic riveter, everyone can get into the act.  Even Mom took a turn!

The proud crew presents our almost-completed stabilizer.   The finishing steps don't occur until installation on the aft fuselage, but it's done for now and ready for an EAA Tech. Counselor inspection. (12/30/00)
All three completed tail section parts were positioned for inspection by our EAA Tech. Counselor, Mr. Lee Lawson.  His visit provided some good advice that we've already applied.  Notes from his visit are provided on a subsequent page.
