This is the Cathedral at Durham. We went
to Durham right after we left York.
Here is the entrance to Durham Castle.
It is now Durham University.
Here's part of Hadrian's Wall.
It is one of the walls made by the Romans back in the day.
Here's Ruth, Carmela, and Mom on the coach
as we are stopped at Hadrian's Wall.
Happy Birthday, Mom! We stopped
for lunch and we split a piece of cake for dessert, so I took advantage
of the situation and celebrated Mom's birthday again. I had already
told Bryn, our tour guide that it was her birthday and we sang "Happy Birthday"
to Mom on the coach as we were leaving York.

This is our first view of Scotland, as we pulled
over at a layby at the Scotland/England boundry.
Here's Ruth and Carmela with the bagpipe player
who was at the layby waiting for all the tourists who stop there.
The other side of the rock says England, but no one was taking a picture
of that.

This is the ruin of Jedburgh Abbey in Jedburgh,
Scotland. It was the first town we stopped in after entering Scotland.
That night, Mom and I went to the Scottish
Cabaret in Edinburgh. Mom said it was the biggest birthday party
that she ever had. We enjoyed lamb and salmon and we even tried haggis.
The show had singers, dancers, a bagpipe player, accordion player, fiddle
player and more.
