Nivoch II
Nivoch II is much like earth, consisting of 70% of the surface covered by water, 3 large landmasses and a large differentiation in climate and vegetation. It has extensive flora and fauna over most of its mass, and includes deserts, forests and grass fields. Much of it is still left to be discovered though. Important discoveries from G-2 include 8-winged butterflies, a docile feline species and a bird-like water-born creature called ‘Nessie’ (findings suggest she relates to birds like dinosaurs do on Earth).
An interesting phenomenon can be observed during the spring and summer on Nivoch II, when the night-sky is filled with light other than stars, originating from the Badlands. This effect looks a lot like the ‘northern light’ on Earth, but can be seen everywhere on the planet.

Outpost G-2
The G-2 Outpost is a large, cross-shaped complex with several loose buildings and a central exercise ground. The Outpost is not walled, but has green grassy slopes on each side descending into the valleys below (except for the east side, see Falcon’s nest below). It has a state-of-the-art medical, engineering, scientific and command facility, including powerful personnel and cargo transporters and spacious living quarters for all Starfleet personnel (any NCO of and above the rank of Petty Officer 1 st class can expect their own room). At the end of the north-facing corridor there is a larger, roomy house for the Colony Administrator (often called Ellis’ house). On the grounds, the Marine Company is housed. The Marine company is responsible for the defence of Nivoch II, though they only have authority in the colony under special circumstances.
Located at the east side of the base there is a large platform where the assigned Defiant-class vessel that is usually placed. It also allows the landing of other similarly or smaller sized vessels. It has its own maintenance hangar for the shuttles and runabouts of the Outpost. The location was named after the U.S.S. Falcon, a sister ship of the U.S.S. Eagle that was assigned there during the 2381-2382 anti-piracy campaign.
To the east side of the Outpost, there is a small space-port. It has a control tower, 3 large hangars (2 of which are assigned to the 190th Fighter Group), an arrival hall, cargo processing building (including personnel and cargo transporters) and a hopper parking lot. It is often called the “Damar Spaceport” after the Cardassian resistance fighter and is guarded by the Marines from the Outpost.

Nivoch II colony
The colony is located to the south of the Outpost and offers room to roughly 8.000 civilians. It has a large central building called the colonial administration building. It has 8 floors (and it therefore the tallest building on the colony) and includes a colonial administration office, a medical clinic, a fire department and the Nivoch police department. The colony itself still needs to be developed, but there are 3 basic types of building already present in the colony: small departments, duplexes and houses. Until all houses are occupied expansion of the colony is discouraged and any additional houses need to fit the style of the other colonies buildings.
Non-constructed areas are purchasable from the Colonial government, but are restricted to planned areas, as nature conservation is given high priority. Anyone wanting to build outside these areas needs to apply to the colony administration.
The Outpost and the colony have been established in one of the central mountain ranges of the planet. It features a mild, temperate climate with winter temperatures never dropping below 5 degrees centigrade during the day (though much colder during the night) and summer temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees centigrade in the shadow. The location features a distinct raining season lasting anywhere between 3 and 6 weeks (4 on average) during the spring. The winter frequently sees snow and the ability to ice-skate on the lake nearby Outpost G-2 (just beyond Ellis’ house).

U.S.S. Eagle NCC-956 A
The U.S.S. Eagle is a refit Defiant-class vessel that was heavily damaged during the Sector 001 engagement with the Borg and was one of the later vessels to be repaired. It was relaunched in 2376. It is the 2nd vessel to bear the name U.S.S. Eagle.
