Prologue:
The Forest Wolves
The people of Evalos welcomed the new king with open arms,
for Kronos Gotreid Cross was a hero to many, and his service
to the kingdom of Evalos was well knowned. He promised to
bring Evalos the glory it deserves, and the people of Evalos
rejoiced... but not for long.
Because of Kronos's obsession to defeat the Vallax Republic,
the hero they once knew began to change. The King focused
Evalos's resources on the Military, and the people became
second priority. He built military schools, fortresses and
often neglected the needs of the people. He began to increase
the tax of citizens to fund the War effort. Soon, the people
rebelled against the King, but all that opposes the government
was considered a traitor and was executed. A few people
tried to oppose the king, and many of them are dead.
This was Otros Oblaid's strategy; to keep the people disciplined,
they must live in fear. Now, the free Kingdom of Evalos
was living under the iron hand of Kronos Cross. The Citizens
were too afraid to say anything against the government,
because they fear for their life.
But there are some who refused to be silent. Anastasia
Cadone, the Governor of the province of Michzen declared
that her province would not pay the taxes, and urged the
governor of other provinces to join her. Instead of getting
support, she only received threats. But that did not stop
her, instead it made her more determined. Her husband, an
imperial soldier named Sirus Cadone feared for her life,
and demanded her to stop, but she did not. Soon she was
arrested and was labeled a traitor.
Even before she was executed, she demanded the people to
stand up for themselves. Sirus Cadone can not do anything
but watch his wife's execution on the plaza, and it was
more than he can take. He cannot forgive himself for not
doing anything to save her wife, and decided to end his
life by jumping off a cliff.
As he was about to jump to his death, he saw her daughter,
Misha Cadone, being harassed by fellow imperial soldiers.
Rage filled his body, and the memory of his wife's execution
made him think of only one thing... revenge. He attacked
the soldiers in a frenzied rage, but they were too many
for him. Soon, he was lying in a pool of his own blood.
As he closed his eyes, he realized that he was so caught
up in his wife's death that he has forgotten about their
two daughters. Realizing the world they will be forced to
live in, he refused to die without a fight. But as he opened
his eyes, the imperial soldiers were retreating, some were
now dead, struck by arrows. It was his neighbors in the
town of Asanhi, Michzen who helped him. Her wife's death
made his neighbors realize that they were fools to let the
government use them.
He moved into hiding with his children to the forest in
Alamoren, Michzen. His friends and neighbors joined them
and soon they formed a village in the forest. Sirus wanted
to pursue his wife's ideals and decided to form a group
who will oppose the corruption in the current government.
Most of his fellow villagers joined him in his cause, and
they became known as the Forest Wolves.
