The Executive was the top of the range - in effect a deluxe Zodiac - and featured leather upholstery as standard, walnut door cappings, factory-fitted sunroof, automatic transmission and auxiliary driving lights.

It was also available with a 4 speed manual gearbox.
"Some people still get the Executive and Zodiac models muddled. It's excusable, because at a glance the two models look a bit alike. But as you get to know our big Fords better, you'll see that they are quite different cars, designed for different purposes, really for different people.
What the Executive and Zodiac have in common is their size, their majestic shape, and their basic engineering.
The difference is best summed up by saying that the Executive is the one with everything.
All the features that are normally classed as extras aren't extra on the Executive, they are part of the Executive deal - which is a very good deal indeed."
