Romneys are a calm, easy to handle breed. Due to their quiet nature they can be kept easily in fenced pens without destroying their housing, yet they are tough enough to live totally outdoors and rear good lambs with little maintenance. Romneys have a strong mothering instinct. Most give birth and start nursing without any need for intervention.
