Anne Arundel Fish And Game Association

Membership Information

AAF&G welcomes new members to the organization. Any person who is not legally restricted from firearms ownership for reasons other than age, and who is 18 years of age or over, and who subscribes to the objectives of this Association without reservation, shall be eligible for consideration. All new members shall, as a condition of their membership renewal, join the National Rifle Association (NRA). New members must appear at a Board of Directors Meeting with a sponsor (any AAF&G member) in order to be considered for membership. If a sponsor has not been identified, prospective members are invited to come to the club during open hours (Friday 10 A.M. - 4 P.M., Saturday 10 A.M. -1 P.M. or Sunday 10 A.M.-3 P.M.) and introduce themselves to a general member, board member, or club officer. If desired, you can receive a tour of the facilities at this time. State your desire to submit a membership application and to identify a sponsor. Sponsors will likely request some informal time with the applicant to achieve some degree of familiarity. Once a sponsor has been identified, the applicant (each applicant in the case of a family membership) and sponsor must appear together before the board to submit the application.

The board meetings are held on the first Monday of each month starting at 7:30 p.m. All fees are due when the application is submitted to the board. There is a one-time initiation fee of $100. Annual fees are $200. If joining mid-year, dues are prorated (for the first year) at $17/month. Members of the immediate family (over 18 and living in the same household) may join as family members for $50 per year (each family member must also fill out a separate application). This fee is also prorated at $4/month for the first year. Applications must be submitted in person at the board meeting. Please do not mail new member applications and fees to the club, or leave them at the clubhouse or trap trailer.

After a brief introduction at the board meeting new members will be excused. The board will vote later that evening on whether to accept the application. If approved, the application will be forwarded for consideration at the next general membership meeting (held on the second Thursday of each month starting at 8:00 p.m. (note that applicants are not required to attend the general meeting). If you are not contacted within 3 days of the general meeting, your application has been accepted. You are then required to attend a safety walk-through. Walk-throughs are typically scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on the third Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. on third Sunday of each month (see specific schedule listed below). No prior coordination is required to attend a walk-through on one of these two days.
