Luxembourg Palace is today the seat of the Senate composed of 283 members. Marie de Medici desired a palace like her Pitti Palace in Florence. It was designed by Salomon de Brosse. Gardens are controlled by the Senate with specific areas designated for activities. The brilliant flower displays are changed three times a summer. |
