CNC Logo STUDENTS HEAD FOR HOME AS SUMMER DAWNS

NEWS> Most people leave home for the summer, but university students generally head home for a well deserved, if rather long, summer break. Ex-students of CNC are returning home from all over the country. ENN reader Lucy Cronin arrived home in time for the birth of her new sister (see Summer Shorts), and readers Mel Harling and Andrew Brannigan have been spotted back in the Great North West. Most ex-students have now finished their first year at university, and the exam season at college is drawing to a close ahead of first year exams next month.

Ex-Newman News now looks ahead to the big events of the summer. On July 4th the staff meet for a big booze night at St. Augustine's. No doubt reporting restrictions will apply, but ENN will be there. "Obviously we can't print anything confidential," explained ENN Editor Mr Andrew Allman, "but we hope to provide readers with an interesting insight into the evening. I've always wanted to be a fly on the wall at a staff do, and now's my chance." At the end of the CNC year, the annual staff-student football match will take place. "ENN will carry unrivalled coverage of the event," says the Editor. "It's a great event - not just sporting, but social as well, and that's why it's so important."

Many ex-students are planning summer holidays, and we want to hear from you, wherever you're going in the world. Send us a postcard with a picture of where you are and news of your holiday. Send your postcards to: Ex-Newman News, 51 Harbour Lane, Warton, Preston, Lancashire, PR4 1YA, England.
