In the name of God Amen! I Roger Bratcher of the County of Craven and State of North
Carolina being sick and weak of body though of sound mind and memory and understanding,
and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life, do make, publish and declare this my
last will and testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: I will that my just
debts and financial charges be paid by my Executors to wit: I give and bequeath to my
eldest son David three hundred acres of land lying and being in the pocosin and the red
oak ridge, and in case he dies without his lawfully begotten of his body to fall to my
daughter Charlotte. To wit I give and bequeath to my youngest son Basil the plantation
where I now live together with the lands and twenty ????????? belonging, but in case he
dies without heirs lawfully begotten of his body to fall to my daughter Charlotte. All the
remainder of my estate real and personal to be sold at the discretion of my faithful
brother, Thomas Bratcher. Lastly, I nominate and ordain my well beloved brother Thomas
Bratcher, whole and sole Executor to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I
have set my hand and seal this 28th day of June, 1784.

It appearing to the Court that this paper writing purporting to be the last will and
testament of Roger Bratcher and has been heretofore by order of this Court at the
September time A. D. 1784 duly admitted to probate. On Motion it is ordered that said last
will and testament be recorded.
