Starring: David Andrews, Yancy Butler and S.
Epatha Merkerson
A cop show set in the future with Detective
Bobby Mann (David Andrews) assigned to a cyborg in Sergeant Eve
Edison (YB) under the command of Lieutenant Claghorn (S Epatha
Merkerson). Better than average sci-fi fare with standard cop
show plots given a futuristic twist by the methods Eve employs to
solve them. Mann tries to teach super-intelligent, super-strong
and basically indestructible Eve how to be more human with
varying degrees of success - some standout moments were when
Bobby and Eve are in the car singing "My Boyfriend's
Back" and when Eve, trying to help Bobby who's suffering
from insomnia get some sleep, propositions him. An added bonus is
that Mark Mothersbaugh did the music (this amounts to personal
taste I guess ;). It was created by Robert De Laurentis and Dick
Wolf (who also paired together for South Beach).
M&M is repeated every so often in the US on the Sci-Fi
Channel.
