August 23: Rivercats

Rich went to work at the Discovery Museum for the Arttrain. After I dropped him off I ran some errands. I took a whole bunch of dollar coins to the heir. He's turning into quite a nice young man, though he's gaining weight. Not enough time away from the computer, I think. I paid the PG&E bill. I had meant to look for some CDs, but I was running out of time. At home I made a quick pass through the Internet, and then as I was preparing to leave I went near the laundry to look for something. I smelled Clorox. Sure enough, the bottle I'd brought home from the dwarf's had a pinhole leak, and had made a couple of white spots on my laundry table. So I had to veeeeerrrrry carefully pour it into other bottles. This meant I didn't go see Rich till he was done.

We moved the car to the Old Sacramento lot and walked along the Riverfront. We checked out the new Embassey Suites. Oddly enough, it looks like the one in the Seattle area where the family stayed last year. Then we walked across Tower bridge, which is being re-painted. Then to Rivercats stadium. We had about 10 minutes to stand around before they opened the gates.

One of the things was that I almost forgot we couldn't come back next week for the special days, like Fan Appreciation night or the rubber duckies that look like the manager. Sigh. Oh, well. I like the waste management guy who walks around taking trash, all decorated up in a polka-dot jumpsuit and curly ribbon wig. Rich won the prize for our Knights of Columbus group: a Rivercats hat. Oh, and the 'cats won, too, beating the Fresno Grizzleys. Let MLB strike, who cares anyway, as long as I have my 'cats!
