August 24: Looking for a Picture

This was a totally wasted day. I planned, at least, to dust the dinosaurs, but first I wanted to find a picture Bernadette wanted of her with Terry Pratchett. I'd asked "can I have a picture with her?" and he'd said "Certainly! I'd love a picture of me and my dearest friend, what was your name again?" She'd hoped to have it along when we go to the Pratchett party at ConJose.

Well, that took a day, while I looked through six "carefully sorted" boxes. I did find more dwarf pictures. I got enough tree pictures to send to his friend who is looking for the Tree, and to give myself more hints, too. I found neighborhood and house pictures and went out to take digital versions for a "then and now" set once I scan the originals. I even found a picture from the same day, of Rich, Bernadette, and the dwarf, but the (two at least) Pratchett pictures have disappeared. I'll find them lying on top of something in two weeks!

As predicted some of the snottier journallers despise bloggers. It's a "we were here first" type of thing. One was saying Dave Winer couldn't measure up to Christianne Amanpour. She doesn't like the "we can fact-check your ass" (Ken Layne) thing and says bloggers aren't real journalists. These days I don't think "journalists" are real, myself. Anyway, Dave Winer, maybe, but Glenn Reynolds and Ken Layne? Pagan has said he would like more of Jan in my blog, but in reality, I just started it to get rid of a lot of the quotations here. I do more linking than thinking over there. Besides, I'm still weeks behind over there.

The same snotty journaller doesn't like Little Green Footballs, mostly because he keeps pointing out that it's the Islamists, stupid. His latest is grand, Claire Berlinski's Modest Proposal. Take Saudi Arabia. Please.
