WWWCentaur Board Posting # 909
The following posting was made on April 15, 1998.
OVERVIEW:
Oh manure!
Let me repeat that.
Oh manure!
The ersatz research team and I have often discussed the causes of my condition. Our best theory is that some organization is field testing a genetic re-engineering technique. Of course, being the only KNOWN instance, the E-team considered it one theory among many.
Tanya's posting last Saturday has moved that theory into active discussion. The E-team would love to have a long talk with the people in charge of the project if the theory is fact.
From MY point of view, I would love to have a back alley 'talk' with the top ten people in that organization. If male, I would geld them. If female, I would beat them to a pulp.
Once that was out of my system I would politely demand all of the lab notes and reports dealing with the reproductive plumbing that appears to have made me a self fertilizing female. I suspect that there is a very good reason for it.
If that reason isn't a good one, I may lose my temper.
If that happens... I may have to resort to using lawyers and the tabloids to respond.
I think that covers the current feelings of myself and the E-team. Now for the rest of the report.
ITEM ONE: Pelvic changes--Bone
The trends from the previous weeks continue. 'George'. our comparative physiologist, has created a computer model of the changes, using a human body as one end point and an equine body as the other. The model can, without much tweaking, match reality.
Reality, at this moment, consists of the following changes:
1. A 'fore-pelvis' that is a human pelvis morphing into the shoulders of a horse.
2. A 'hind-spine,' with riblets, that looks like the portion of an equine spine running between the equine 'shoulders' and the hindquarters.
3. A 'hind-pelvis,' with subcutaneous legs, that looks like the hindquarters of a horse.
4. An equine tail that hasn't changed in weeks.
One of the advantages of my neighbor 'Myke's' promotion is that we should be able to improve the frequency of scanning if not the quality. The 'calcium shadow' (See item three) continues to get thicker. 'Myke' is earning his promotion all over again when it comes to this problem.
ITEM TWO: Pelvic changes--Soft organs
As feared, I've now experienced my first full female pelvic exam. That exam has convinced me that the medical profession needs to rethink how they do things. (It was embarrassing and disgusting in my biased opinion.)
Technically speaking, I'm what 'George' calls a modified shemare. I'm a shemare because I have the reproductive organs of a human female in front and an equine female in the back. The modified part refers to the fact that I still produce sperm and the fact that the equine part of my body isn't fully developed.
'Arnold', the veterinarian on the E-team, believes that I could conceive and bear a foal. All of the reproductive organs are in place and they appear to be functional. His biggest concern is the fact that the hindquarters are not fully developed.
'Anita', my GYN-OB, is convinced that I could conceive, bear and deliver a baby without a problem. She has even worked out a technique that would allow me to bypass the natural spermicide I produce and impregnate myself.
Knowledge of that technique was needed. My wife and I had been planning some 'bed wrestling' that involved a variation of the technique. It is a good thing we've been too busy to try it. I DON'T want to get pregnant as this time.
ITEM THREE: Pelvic changes--Unknown organs.
Preliminary results indicate that these organs contributed to the accelerated changes I experienced on Saturday. From what we were able to observe, the contributions were primarily blood and an energy supply. The 'calcium shadow' was untouched.
'George' is trying to come up with an appropriate scientific name for these nutrient warehouse. His top choices are one based on his real name, one based on my real name and one based on both of our real names.
I've been calling them were-spheres. 'George' is miffed because the rest of the E-team likes the term.
Not too miffed though. Greed, for knowledge and art work, won out over pain last Saturday when I was changing. I allowed 'George' to do five biopsies in exchange for five pieces of his fantasy are. He now has five biological 'treasures' and five painful holes in his art collection. I, on the other hand, have five art 'treasures' and one painful hold in me. The accelerated changes healed the other holes.
We both consider it to be a fair trade.
ITEM FOUR: Lactation?
Not much of a change from last week. I appear to be producing a small amount of human/equine colostrum. I'm also spending a lot more time going topless because its more comfortable. The milk delivery system is sensitive to pressure and appears to produce more when confined to a bra.
It is a good thing I work at home.
ITEM FIVE: Cumulative changes
As of today I have a hair more than seventeen centimeters of 'shelf' behind me. (Call it six and three quarters inches if you use the 'English' system of measurement.) The daily growth of this shelf has been remarkably consistent.
I continue to adapt to the 'shelf'.
It isn't too much of a problem in private. The problems I mentioned in an earlier post can be handled with a little forethought. With one exception.
That exception involves using the toilet. Before Saturday's changes I had the proper equipment for doing certain functions standing up. The loss of that equipment has forced some major changes in how I do things.
I now have intimate knowledge of why women take so long to use public restrooms.
In the public sector my 'shelf' has gotten a little too large to hide with a skirt. Since we still want to keep my condition relatively private, the E-team and I spent an afternoon at my place trying to hide the 'shelf' without being too obvious about it.
We were seriously discussing a Victorian era costume with a bustle when my eldest daughter pointed out that a backpack would work as a psuedo-shelf. With a specially tailored skirt and a hollowed out sleeping bag my 'shelf' could grow a lot more before it became a problem.
My wife and daughters are working on the outfit right now.
ITEM SIX: Mental/Physical health
The major itching is gone. Toward the end I found it very hard resisting the need to scratch.
Now everything is back to 'normal', more or less. My temperature is down to 99.4 degrees F and holding. The milk delivery system and the 'shelf' still itch, but at a very low relative intensity. Overall I feel fine.
My mental health varies. If I don't think about what happened I can function quite well as a woman. Several E-team members, male and female, say that they like me better as a woman. And my wife says that I'm not as grumpy.
If I don't think about it hard, I can see what they are saying. How that I appear to be a fully functional female, I don't have to worry about being arrested for being a 'man' in a women's restroom. Thinking back, that particular worry seems trivial considering the other aspects of my condition.
If I mull over the changes I get nervous and have to have what my kids are calling Misty's Centaur Sundae. (Three scoops of French Vanilla ice cream topped with horse oats, equine vitamins, mare's milk formula, molasses and two cherries.)
I get nervous at least three times a day.
ITEM SEVEN: Cravings
In the previous section I mentioned Misty's Centaur Sundae. (Misty is my wife's version of Ms. Dee. She grew up reading horse stories from a certain author.) The sundae appears to supply almost all the nutrients I need to satisfy my cravings. If I supplement the sundaes with a bowl of horse oats, I don't have any cravings.
Oddly enough, I'm not gaining weight in proportion to my food consumption. At the same time my nutrient extraction abilities are quite high.
Most of the E-team things the were-spheres are responsible for the differences. 'George' favors the nutrient warehouses he is trying to name.
I think that covers the things worth covering.
Good luck and good futures,
Ms. Dee
