ECKLES, IVEY, MITCHELL posted by William G. (Bill) MITCHELL on Friday, July 2, 1999: In Walton Co., my great grandfather, Francis William MITCHELL was born 3 April 1829. He married Mary Jane (Molly) ECKLES (born abt 1830) probably in Morgan Co. I have pretty complete information about Francis William, but a relatively small amount about Mary Jane (Molly). Can someone tell me more about her? I'm told her father was Douglas ECKLES, born 14 May 1810, probably in Morgan Co., and that her mother was Angeline IVEY, born Oct. 1810. That's all I have; no ancestors and no siblings. I would like to know where "Molly" was born and when and where she and Francis (Frank) were married. I'd like the ancestors of Douglas, and where he was born. I'd like any and all available informatiion about Angeline and the IVEY family. Your help would be appreciated. Bill MITCHELL

MOORE, WHITE posted by Nena Hopkins on Monday, July 5, 1999: Looking for parents of Joseph William Moore, b. ga. 1819 and also for his wife, Sarah A. White, b. S. C. 1819. They were in Ga. until aboaut 1847. Found them in Miss. in 1850. Then in Texas in 1860. Joe died before the 1860 census was taken.

Baptist Church north of Social Circle. Parents were Moses W. Young, Jr. and Mary Edmonds/Edmonson. Grandfather thought to be Moses W. Young Sr., but that's where trail gets cold.

BONNER, GREER, GRIER, HOBBS, NICHOLLS posted by Bertie O'Quin on Thursday, July 15, 1999: Henry Greer married Lucy Bonner in Walton County, Ga on 2 Apr 1835. I believe that this might be a son of Henry Greer and Nancy Hobbs, who had 5 boys and 2 daughters born in Greene Co, Ga. Nancy died about 1840. Henry married Polly Nichols in 1845 in Greene Co and later relocated to Muscogee Co, where Polly died, after the 1850 census. If you have any info on these families, will be happy to exchange data. I have much from James the Immigrant, thru 10 generations, of most of Aquilla Greer, Jr and Elizabeth Bandy descendants. THanks

NIXON posted by Valerie Freeman on Saturday, July 17, 1999: NIXON, Joseph -- Trying to connect with anyone searching his family. He & his wife and children are found in the 1820 & 1830 census of Walton Co. Family tradition alleges that he moved the family to Coweta Co abt 1830 (so after the 1830 census) and he died there shortly after the move. One of his sons, John Francis Nixon, b. 1811, resided in Palmetto, Old Campbell Co., GA. Family is still in Palmetto, but now it is part of Fulton Co.
