Looking for information about Luther D. Hammett, born 1847 in South Carolina. Moved to Georgia as a young boy. Do not know his first wife's name or names of all his siblings. He served with Nathan Forrest's Raiders during the Civil War and was imprisoned at Rock Island during the Civil War. I may have the wrong county. I'm not sure where they lived. His father's name was likely William, but can find no records as yet. Luther was one of triplets. Only two survived, possibly. His brother Holmes Hammett was one of the triplets. Luther may have had a sister named Ophelia. One of Luther's sons was named Emory Holmes Hammett. Thanks in advance for the help. Paula Baker
