Marsa Alam Airport will be established on BOT system, privately owned and managed to absorb extra traffic that lands in Hurghada. It will be about 300 KM from Hurghada A contract was signed between IMAC MARSA ALLAM, NETHER LANDS AIRPORT CONSULTANTS (B.V) NACO and EGYPTIAN ENGENIERS CONSULTANTS for the airport designs. It will be opened to traffic by the beginning of 1999, the first phase by the end of same year, the whole airport by the beginning of the new century. The airport design will contain a main runway length 3000 M , width 45 M, which will serves all types of aircrafts. Terminal building will include a VIP lounge, Cafeterias & duty free shops & bazars. It will include the ground operation services buildings as well. The drawing designs and supervision on constructions will coast $4000,000 million. First phase will coast $40,000,000.
