The year 1884 United States harvested the greatest wheat

crop it ever harvested to date.

Thursday, January 22, 1885

I had my first experience in law. I had a law suit with Sandy

Kennedy. George Metzner and W. G. Kitts were witnesses. I

won. So much for my first law suit. I hope it will always be

that way, that I win in whatever I undertake.

Friday, February 06, 1885

I got acquainted with Miss Anna Newell. We went to a dance

at Mr. Edwards We had a good time.

Saturday, February 07, 1885

I took Miss Newell home and got acquainted with Miss

Reaves. Had lots of fun. I think both of them are nice girls.

Sunday, March 01, 1885

pm.

George, Hilda, Kate and I went down to Newells. We had a

splendid time. Miss Reaves was there. I had lots of fun with

her, we did not start home till almost eight o'clock

Tuesday, April 14, 1885

Nora Londe was here. George & I sat up till 2.10 am boiling

sugar.

Wednesday, April 15, 1885

George went away. I was sorry to see him go but all friends

must part.
