Wednesday, April 27, 1904

I started for Oregon again. It was so hard to leave the dear

ones alone again. I had a notion to turn back.

Thursday, May 05, 1904

I arrived at Silver Lake Oregon & the 6th I got to the

homestead.

Saturday, September 24, 1904

Manda & the children arrived in Oregon. I met them at Warm

Spring Flats. I was so glad to see them once more.

Saturday, October 15, 1904

There came a little snow and I killed a deer.

Sunday, November 27, 1904

This was our wedding day and as I was going to the mill I

killed a deer.

Monday, December 26, 1904

I went hunting. Saw 9 deer & killed two.

Saturday, December 31, 1904

We moved to the saw mill to work a few weeks.

Tuesday, February 28, 1905

We moved back to the claim.

Saturday, March 18, 1905

Mr. Robinson & I went hunting on the desert & I killed two big

black tail bucks.

I commenced to work for Porter at the saw mill. Run the

engine.

Made final proof on my homestead

Manda & the children started for Minn. it made me feel blue to

see them go and it was so lonesome without them.

Killed a deer the last one with the old 45-90

Monday, August 28, 1905

I went to Lakeview to take an examination for forest ranger.

Traded the 45-90 for a 30-30 Winchester. Got back Sept 5. -

Killed a black bear with my 30-30. Weighed bout 200#
