Sister Mary came home from St. Paul where she had been
visiting. School is out today. Miss Fox was the teacher - was
with Lizzie when word was brought about Leon.

Kates little boy Leon was killed by a train in the afternoon at
Milaca. His head was cut off. Also his leg and arm and
otherwise mangled. Poor little boy how little I thought that
when he started home a few weeks ago that it would be the
last we would ever see of him again. I can see his little form
yet as he walked by the Rail Road beside his aunt Mary with
his little straw hat set back on his head. And he tripped along
so quick and spry and was so happy. Oh! it is so hard for
Dear Kate and Frank their only boy. But such is life, death is
always near and we never know when it cometh. I hope he is
forever happy and that in time to come we will be a reunited
family in heaven.
