ORPHAN RECORDS

For Singletons Not Yet Connected

autumnrule.gif (2391 bytes)

When a genealogist finds records for their surname, even though a connection for the person has not yet been confirmed, they tend to make a copy of the document. Many times these records become useful at a later time to either make a connection or to document the connection of an ancestor. This is the case with the records below. These Singletons resided in the 1700s or early 1800s in Chowan, Edgecombe, Pitt and Beaufort Counties of North Carolina. Since these Singletons were living in the same part of North Carolina and during the same time as our ancestors  we include them on our web site as "orphans". Maybe other Singleton researchers will recognize some of these documents and can identify the Singleton mentioned to  help solve the mystery of these "Orphan Singletons".
