Getting Connected to the Internet
Articles Worth Reading View the Lecture Series
Begin your 2nd journey to the Internet with a little more history of the Internet and some information on the Netscape Browser. Then check out the page labeled "Where You Leave Your Trail", it will show you how to cover your tracks when surf'n! (You do know that you leave a trail, don't you?)
If you are running the newest (4) version of Netscape, here's the answer to your concerns about covering your tracks. Mark Terry has written a FREEWARE program you can download. There's a link for you in the next column.

Can you be sure of your anonymity on the Internet; just how secure is your environment? Not sure huh? Well, check the link on the right that deals with Internet Security, it will open your eyes I'm sure!

Whether you know it or not, every time you visit a site on the Internet you provide information about yourself. You broadcast details about your geographical location, interests, browsing habits, and even the computer you are using to each site you visit and to other entities watching your network. Many web sites and ISPs log this information, compile dossiers on their users, and sell such information to advertisers and marketing firms. The Anonymizer gives you the power to shield your information from prying eyes.
