Session Seven
Learning Basic HTML & Web Page Design
Articles Worth Reading View the Lecture Series
The 7th and final Session covers the topic of HTML and Web Page design. You will be making a mock Web site on a floppy disk that will be viewed in your browser. There's more information provided for you in the book titled "Projects for you to Build" on my home page.
My seven chapter handout on HTML for beginners called  Web Page Essentials , is now available online. All the chapters have been made into Web pages and you'll see the per chapter links for them in the next column or you can use the link above for a Table of Contents for the series. Hopefully, you'll find them of great personal use.

You can never get enough practical knowledge on Hypertext links, especially NAMED links. This short paper will introduce you to the subject with some "Hands-on" activity.

Look into this paper on Ordered Lists, it will show an outline totally created with < OL > tags. It's a pretty good looking format, if I must say myself!

So you wanted to know more about GIF and JPG formats huh? Well you came to the right place! You can read all about these picture file formats here.

Learn how to do Faux onMouseOvers and onMouseClicks right here! My short tutorials will get you up and running with these interactive goodies very quick!

Check out the page on Interactive FORMS, there's a lot of interesting things you can accomplish with them.

Probably the most important HTML codes you'll ever learn will be those creating Tables. Whenever you can, check to see how other HTMLers make their Tables, it won't be time wasted!

I created a couple of pages for you, one shows Borders in different sizes, and the other does a complete job of describing ROWSPAN and COLSPAN.

I ran into a wonderful Web site produced by the University of Hawaii on the subject of Tables, be sure to check out of of its important information!

For those of you needing information on how to build FRAMES, check out the project I made for you. It will get you started on Frames, you can learn more tricks when you take my Web Design Class.

I've been asked by students, how do I get my Web Site noticed by others? Check out the paper on how to get noticed and make it work for you too!
