Our final book for Inside America is Community and the Politics of Place by Daniel Kemmis. This document poses your essay which counts as 13.3% of your grade and is due by May 17 or before, a firm deadline.

Please compose an essay of between three and five pages which explains how Kemmis develops the theme of reinhabiting the West. Interpret what Kemmis is saying as a Western advocate-of-place. Do not get caught up in the political theory, but explain the larger vision which Kemmis puts forth. Please reflect on the book as a whole and avoid writing an outline. You may draw upon other materials developed in the course.

Your essay will be graded on two criteria, weighted equally: depth and content. Your job is to demonstrate a grasp of the reading.
