CARL JACKSON BROOKS
Retired Grocery Store Owner

GORDON, Ga.-- Carl Jackson Brooks died 23 Apr., aged 69.

Carl was born in Wilkinson County, the son of Claude and Bessie Brooks. He was a life-long resident of the area. He was a veteran of the US Army. Carl was the retired owner and operator of a grocery store. He was a member and deacon of Clear Creek Baptist Church.

Burial was at Cleark Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughter Brenda Brooks Arnold; son, Paul Brooks; 3 grandchildren.

JESSE E. BROOKS
Marine Corps Vet; World War II, Korean War

WIGGINS, Miss.--Jessie E. Brooks died 17 Nov., aged 78.
Jessie was a retired US Marine Corps master sergeant, after 22 years service. He served in both World War II and the Korean War.
Burial was in Ten Mile Cemetery at Wiggins.


Survivors include sons, Edward D. Brooks, Amherst, Mass., Richard A. Brooks, Chestnut Ridge, NY and Jeffrey E. Brooks, New Salem, Mass.; sisters, Rita Pearl Beville, Mengum, La., Aubrey Alexander, Wiggins, Audrey Wagner, Covington, Tn. and Katie Berry, Winnine, Tx.; brothers, Walter Brooks, Perkinston, Ms., Harold Brooks, Camilla, Ga., Bert Brooks, Laurel, Ms. and T. I. Brooks, Austin, Tx.; 3 grandchildren

Wife of E. W. ("Bill") Brooks

COLLEGE PARK, Ga.--Mrs. Pauline McElwaney Brooks of College Park died 7 Dec. Burial was in Fairburn City Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Eldredge William ("Bill") Brooks; sons, Thomas White, Forest Park, Ga. and Eldredge W. Brooks Jr., Gay, Ga.; sisters, Thelma Handley and Zalia Hammond, both of Fayetteville, Elease Stephens, Milner, Alice Elder, Fairburn; brother, Sam L. McElwaney, Forsyth, Ga.; 3 grandchildren.

CHARLES LESLIE BROOKS Sr.
Dies In Zolfo Springs, Fla.

ZOLFO SPRINGS, Fla.-- Charles Leslie Brooks Sr. died here 28 Dec., aged 65.

Charles was born in Columbus, Ga. 20 Apr., 1932, son of Mrs. Dorothy Corley Brooks of Montgomery, Ala. and the late David Phillip Brooks. He was a graduate of Jordan High School in Columbus and worked for Lummus Industries here before moving to Atlanta where he retired after 25 years with Simons-Eastern Engineering Co.

Burial was at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Medley Brooks; sons Robert D. Brooks, Atlanta and Charles L. ("Chuck") Brooks Jr., Wil- mington, NC; brothers, Ronald Corley Brooks, Decatur, Ga. aNd David Phillip Brooks, Montgomery, Al.; 4 grandchildren.

EDITH CLAIRE BROOKS
Dies in Little Rock, Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-- Edith Claire Brooks died here 7 Jan., aged 95.

Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Brooks Tattersall; son, Danny A. Brooks; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

ELSIE BROOKS
Native of Lake Butler, Fla.

SANFORD, Fla.--Elsie Brooks of Valencia Street, Sanford, died 1 June, aged 83.

Elsie was born in Lake Butler, Fla. and moved to central Florida in 1944. She was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include a daughter, Annette Hodges, Sanford; sons J. ronald Brooks, Winston Salem, NC and Wendell Brooks, Lake Mary, Fla.; sisters Lucille Hubbard, Roselle Piper, both of Keystone Heights and Marjorie Waters, St. Petersburg; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

JANICE FOLENDORE BROOKS
Baldwin County Bailiff

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.--Janice Folendore Brooks died 7 June aged 65.

Janice was married to Leonard Brooks. She served for over 25 years as a bailiff at the Baldwin County courthouse here until her retirement. She was a member of the Hardwick Baptist Church.

Burial was in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Leonard; daughters Kay Williams, Panama City, Fla. and Lynn Bragg, Carrollton, Ga.; son Guerry Brooks, Milledgeville; brothers Paul Folendore and J. C. Folendore, Haddock, Charles Folendore and Merrill Folendore, Milledgeville; and 7 grandchildren.

EDDIE LEE BROOKS
World War II Army Vet Worked For NASA

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--Eddie Lee Brooks of Huntsville died here 29 Oct., aged 75.
Eddie was a veteran of the US Army during World War II.

He was a graduate of Auburn University and worked as an engineer with the National Aeronautics and Space Admini-stration (NASA) in Huntsville until his retirement. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church here.

Burial was in Carnes Cemetery in Carnes.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Morris Brooks; daughter, Lynda Gale Brooks Coyle; son, Steven Gerald Brooks, all of Huntsville; sister, Homer Leonard Brooks, Griffin, Ga.; one granddaughter.

THELMA PARRISH BROOKS
Widow of Millard E. Brooks

RICHMOND, Va.-- Thelma Parrish Brooks died here 25 Dec., aged 89.

Thelma was the widow of Millard E. Brooks.

Burial was in Westhampton Memorial Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Brooks McGehee, Richmond; sisters, Elizbeth Parrish and Iva Ondrovich; grand- children, Russell, Warren and Ellen McGeehee; 2 great grandchildren.

DORIS HAILEY BROOKS
Dies in Charleston, SC

CHARLESTON, SC-- Doris Hailey Brooks died at a Charleston hospital 20 Dec., aged 64.

Doris was born in Leaksville, NC, daugh- ter of Benjamin Hailey and Ethel Jones. She was married to Gary L. Brooks. Doris was a member of the North Charleston Senior Friends Club and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was a Methodist.

Burial was in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are her husband Gary; daughters Audrey D. Kolodey and Sharon G. Owens, both of Oviedo, Fl.; brother, Herman Hailey of NC; 2 grandchildren.

FLORENCE GIBSON BROOKS
Sheet Metal Worker

COLUMBUS, Ga.-- Florence Gibson Brooks died here 30 Mar. at Deerfield Nursing Home, age 81.

Gibson was born 16 Sept., 1916 in Bullock County, Al., son of Alfred ("Alf") Brooks Sr. and Alma Mooney. a retired sheet metal worker for Lummus Industries, after more than 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Burial was in Parkhill Cemetery here.

Survivors include sons Ronnie Brooks and Wayne Brooks, both of Columbus and Charles Brooks, Hernando, MS.; sisters Frances Barbaree, Indian Springs, AL. and Thelma Dodson, St. Louis, MO.; brothers William A. Brooks, Columbus, Alf Brooks Jr. and Dozier Brooks, both of Fountain Inn, SC and George Brooks, Dallas, TX.; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
