Welcome to the Hill Family Club's online Hill Family News, a national family newsletter for all Hill families. The newsletter is sponsored by the Hill Family Club, a national family club for all descendants of Hill families. We hope you will be seeing lots more of us in the coming months as we add more news about our family for you. The family newsletters will have articles on our family of current news, obituaries/deaths, weddings, engagements, anniversaries, births, feature articles, family heritage and articles featuring an outstanding cousin in our family ("Know Your Cousins").
WE NEED YOUR HELP: when you hear about a death, marriage, engagement, major anniversary or other news on a Hill relative, please let us know so we can include the news in the family newsletter. If you see an obituary, wedding notice, birth announcement or other news about a Hill relative in your local newspaper, please clip it out, along with the name and date of the paper from the top of the page and mail it to us. We want to preserve these in our Family Library as well as write about it in the newsletter. "No news" means you haven't been sending in news about the family!

GREENVILLE, Ga.-- The Georgia State Department of Transportation has announced that a stretch of Georgia Highway 109 in Meriwether County after a long-time former state legislator, Render Hill.
The "Render Hill Highway" will honor Render's 26 years of service to his area as a member of the Georgia State Legislature. He served six years in the Georgia House of Representatives and 20 years in the Georgia Senate. The Georgia Transportation Board which oversees the Department of Transportation, passed a resolution which states the honor is "in recognition of the service this great Georgian rendered his fellow citizens." The resolution added "His extremely busy professional and legislative schedule did not prevent him from pursuing an active role in the civic and religious portion of his community, nor limit his role as a family man."
Render, 75, is a 1944 graduate of the University of Georgia. During his tenure in the legislature, he served on the appropriations committee of both the House and Senate. He was one of the sponsors of the Wilkes-Hill Bill which backed loans for students to attend college.
If your branch of the family is planning a reunion, please let us know so we can write an article about it. Send complete details: dates, time, place; and name, mailing address and telephone number and an email address if available, of a person to contact for more infor-mation. Give directions of how to get there, with detailed info if it is in a rural area, such as a rural church. If it is an annual event, tell some history of the reunion.
AFTER the reunion, send details about what happened: include how many attended; who traveled the greatest distance; the oldest and youngest relatives there; entertainment, history programs and other activities; awards given. If you have a reunion committee or officers, give their names and hometowns.
