Searching for ancestors and info on HENRY LOGAN JOHNSTON, b ca 1878 in Illinois ? He may have been a medical doctor. He served in the US Army during either the Spanish-American War or World War I. When he came home from the war, he was so upset over the carnage he had seen from treating wounded soldiers, that he stopped his medical practice and started treating animals. He moved about quite a bit. I have one photo of him taken while visiting his sister in Hohenwald, Tn. in 1920. Henry mar RUDY FARRIS in 1916 in Santa Rosa Co., FL. Their ch: RUBY HAWES JOHNSTON (b 12 Oct 1917, Monticello, Jefferson Co., FL.), ODELENE CLAY ("Sue") JOHNSTON (b 2 Nov 1918, Ft. Gaines, Clay Co., Ga.), MILDRED JOHNSTON (15 Jul 1920, Ft. Myers, Lee Co., FL.), HILDRED JOHNSTON (twin of Mildred, died ca two weeks of age) and JENNIE JOE JOHNSTON (15 Nov 1924, Atlanta, Fulton, Ga.). Before the last child was born, Henry went west and was coming back to get his family but was killed. My grandmother received word about his death and went to Atlanta, where the last child was born.

Looking for ancestors of LOLA EDGAR ("Ed L.") JOHNSON (1901-1993) and ADA BELLE RUSSELL. They were my grandparents and lived in Johnson City, Tn. where they raised a family of ten children. He was a son of ANDREW LEE JOHNSON and MAUDIE VAUGHN. They lived in the North Carolina-Tennessee area. Her mother was LULA RUSSELL and her mother's mother was SOPHIA RANGE. I believe they were Pennsylvania Dutch (German). Most official records in this search were burned in a fire in at the Washington Co., Tn. courthouse. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Seeking info on PHILIP JOHNSON (b ca 1680 birthplace unkn- bef 1717 in Baltimore Co., Md.), mar by 1711 Mary Ann ???. They had at least one ch: WILLIAM JOHNSON Sr. b ca 1711 who mar SARAH HARRIS (b 4 Feb 1718, All Hallow's Parish, Anne Arundel Co., Md.) dau of THOMAS HARRIS (1676 - 1746) and first wife RACHEL (1678 - 1718). William and Sarah had 9 ch: WILLIAM JOHNSON Jr. (18 Dec. 1733, Baltimore Co.), RUTH JOHNSON (26 Feb 1736), PHILIP JOHNSON Jr. (29 Dec 1737), JOHN (29 Jul 1740), THOMAS JOHNSON (17 May 1742), JOSEPH JOHNSON (18 Jan 1745), SARAH JOHNSON (17 May 1747), BENJAMIN JOHNSON (18 Oct 1749) and MARY ANN JOHNSON (14 July 1752). All of the children's births were recorded in St. Paul's Parish, Baltimore Co., Md. I am a descendant of Thomas who mar WEALTHY ANN HALL, dau of MORDECAI HALL and SARAH VINES. Thomas and Wealthy had 2 ch: JOSHUA (1767, Md.-28 Oct 1837, Mifflin Twp., Pike Co., Oh.) who mar MARGARET LEWIS (11 Aug 1711), dau of ELI LEWIS and RUTH FOSTER. Thomas' second child was CHARITY JOHNSON (27 Mar 1769) who mar RICHARD LEWIS FOSTER in 1793 at Shoup's Fort, Bedford Co., Pa.
Thomas was a minister in the early Methodist Church movement in America, who moved to the Broad Top Velley region of Bedford Co. in the early 1770's. There is quite a bit of documentation on Thomas and Wealthy. By 1803, his son Joshua had moved to Mifflin Township in what became part of Pike Co. Would be glad to exchange info on this family and to learn more about the first Philip Johnson; Philip's wife MARY served as administratrix of his estate. She later mar JOHN HAYES and after his death, THOMAS HARRIS, the father of Sarah who married her son.
