1993 Corrado VR-6
The little sweet
Schmidt Racing purchased one of the first 93 model Corrado VR6 in late March 1992.
The car competed six weeks later at Mosport Park in a regional race and won.
In which was the last season of the Canadian Firehawk Enduro series Gunter Schmidt and co driver
Allister Oag from Jamestown NY finished in a points tie for first place with Scott Maxwell's factory
sponsored Ford Taurus.
In 1993 the duo of Schmidt and Oag went on to win the Canadian Endurance Road Race Championship.
Also the second Corrado (red) was added to the team, but only competed in 3 races, with the driver being Peter Carpenko and Graig Priddle.
The following year both cars had a year off, due to the introduction of the Jetta GLX to the team.
Car # 37 was driven by Nigel Gleeson and Gord Cullen in 1995 winning the Valvoline Touring Car Championship.
1996 Peter Carpenko and Gord teamed up in the National Enduro Championship and finished fifth. The number 36 Corrado made several apperances with other
rental drivers with a second place finish in a regional race being the best result.
For 1998 the number 36 Car has been totaly rebuild.A new rollcage,
rear independent suspension, larger brakes front and rear,a Supercharged 300 hp engine and only 2230 lbs weigt, make this car
