29 September:
8.00 enrolment at the conference and consignment of passes.
9.00 plenary session, welcome on the part of the president and the
authorities, presentation of the work.
10.30-11.00 coffee break
11.00-13.00 threefold work programme based on:
family mediation,
social mediation,
business mediation
(Simultaneous translation will be provided in four languages: Italian,
Spanish, French and English will be offered only if requested by more than
20% of the participants)
13.00 lunch
The threefold work programme will then re-commence at 15.00 and continue
until 18.00.
19.00 World Mediation Forum Assembly
30 September:
9.00-10.30 round table, debates, symposia
10.30-11.00 coffee break
11.00-13.00 work re-commences
13.00-15.00 lunch break
15.00-18.00 congress work
1 October:
Congress work will continue as above, with the same pauses as the other
days during the morning.
16.30-18.00 closure of work with plenary session.
18.00-19.00 Conference attendance certificates will be made available.
20.00 Gala Evening
Aims:
Each World Mediation FORUM Conference, held every two years, provides
a space to focus attention on the expansion and the practice of mediation,
the knowledge of the fields of application which are multiplying and for
the identification of the specific techniques which are being perfected,
enriched and refined.
The professional training of mediators should be considered. This should
correspond to the needs of modern society and contribute to the expansion
of the culture of mediation.
The World FORUM of Mediation, up to this point, has divided the applications
of mediation into three areas:
family,
business,
social.
Within each area there are many applications. There are many the laws
and draft bills which are being approved by many governments for the application
of mediation. Recently the EC has also financed projects on mediation and
considers it a useful practice for promoting non-violence and for educating
the younger generations, also in the schools, for the positive management
of conflicts.
Conference objectives:
To favour the expansion and the practice of mediation in all corners
of the world.
To facilitate a constant exchange of new experiences and new knowledge.
Languages:
For all the plenary sessions and round tables simultaneous translation
services will be available in Spanish, French, English and Italian.
All the activities, outside the plenary sessions, will be divided by
linguistic units and the interpreting service, in one of the official languages
of the FORUM, will be offered only if requested by more than 20% of the
participants.
Conference enrolment fees:
Lire 800,000, Euro 413 if payment is made before 20 January 2000.
Lire 900,000, Euro 465 if payment is made by 20 May 2000.
Lire 1,000,000, Euro 517 if payment is made after 20 May 2000 as long
as places are available.

Enrolments for the III Conference of the W.F.M. will be confirmed after

In case of cancellation a deposit of Lire 500.000, Euro 258 will be
forfeit for administrative costs.
No refund will be made if the cancellation is after 30 July 2000.

Where the III W.F.M. Conference will take place:
In Italy, on the beautiful island of Sardinia in the province of Cagliari
at the Grand Hotel Chia**** Laguna Congress Centre, in an oasis of sun,
green and sea where everything is possible. Sport, excursions, reflection,
enjoyment, friendship.
Dunes, juniper plants, inlets, rocks which leave spaces for great open
areas of marvellous golden beaches with a crystal clear emerald sea. Sardinia,
with its discrete and austere landscapes, its uncontaminated nature offers
unforgettable moments to everyone who loves nature, with the chance to
visit natural parks and an unspoilt sea.

world conferences) for 6 nights and 5 days, from 26 September (arrival
in the hotel) to 2 October 2000 (leaving the hotel by 12.00)
