SUMMR'S CIRCLE OF FRIENDSHIP

Flowerbar

I have met many wonderful people online and made many dear Internet friends. Some I have met, some I will never meet, but they are no less near and dear to my heart. They are down home, loving, giving, caring people...just like you make friends with in real life. The media is quick to tell us the dangers and negatives of the Internet, I am hoping to show the warmth, friendship and positives that can be found. My goal is to create a "Circle of Friendship" that reaches around the world, and includes friends of all nationalities and cultures. If you would like to be a part of this effort, please email me with your bio (including where you're from), a small photo (optional), and your link (email or url address). Below you will meet some of those who are a part of my "Circle of Friendship".

Poundpup (aka Lew) lives in Oklahoma and is one of my best friends online. He is one of the nicest people I have had the good fortune of meeting on the Internet, and a perfect example of the good that can be found there. He's witty, articulate, kind, and loves life. We have never met in person, but I feel like I have known Lew forever.

Ginny would love some pen pals, or is that email pals. "My name is Ginny Alexander, my husband is Clyde Alexander. I am originally from Arlington, MA and Clyde is from OKC, Oklahoma. At 18 I joined the Air Force and married a year later. My husband passed away in 1979 leaving me with 5 wonderful kids. In 1988 I married Clyde, the most wonderful man in the world.. He has two kids. They are all married and on their own, (sometimes it doesn't seem so). We are presently living in Houston, TX. God sent us here, (or I wouldn't live in TX)to help with Clyde's parents. I really enjoy it now that I've gotten used to the heat and humidity. Whew! I love to do crafts like x-stitch, sewing, quilts and little crafts. My husband is a mechanic. Clyde and I are both 53 and grandparents. We don't get to see our kids or grandkids because they are mostly in Oklahoma. My youngest, Sarah, is married in living in Washington state. Since we were service people, we didn't get to have very many close friends before having to move again. We do have some, but they are also far away and most don't have computers. I crave friends. I can no longer work due to arthiritus conditions, but I can write a mean letter! Well I guess that's all I can think of for now. Thanks, Ginny ."

Sharon would love to make some new email friendships. "Hi, my name is Sharon, I am 55 years old.... I am currently living in So. Carolina, USA..... originally from NY most of my years..... I am disabled/very abled with Multiple Sclerosis, and try to continue to keep the spirits flowing, from myself and to others.... Enjoying holding each other up! I love doing Crafts, of all kinds, an admitted Craft-Aholic, whatever my hands will let me do... I originally was a "Crochet Queen," but my left hand, didn't cooperate with my right hand, and let me down, and I had to put my crochet hooks on the shelf for a while, never giving up tho."... So I bought every kind of craft supply, bought out of fear ...... (big mistake, cause I really had nothing to fear... God has his own plan....) Bought compulsively, till I found what I really like to do.... And I like working with nature's wood, and paint, just loads of things... And 6 years later, the Good Lord, has allowed me to Crochet again, but it is not primary anymore... I learned that I am able to create so much more!!!! There are so many other things to do... And the best one I love, is communicating with others, making friends..... Thank you for letting me share.....Sharon."

Laurie (aka Ainglkiss), lives in California and has two great websites. She writes, "I have 3 grown daughters and 3 grandchildren. The youngest of which, I babysit daily and she is 7 weeks old. I love children and I think that is why I made the Jesus site. When I was young, I had so many problems trying to understand what was being said. I wanted to make a site that was short and to the point with kid language that I felt they might understand. I wanted it to be "kid friendly". My Hand of God site, I made for myself. Last year as a birthday present, people sent stories to me of their real life angel and miracle stories. I love those stories and I have kept them for a long time when I got the idea to compile them onto the web and let everyone read them. I kept them on my computer and as luck would have it, I lost them all. I am starting over and new stories are added as they come in. I just love it."

Phyllis writes: Hi my name is Phyllis and I am from Saugus Massachusetts. I am 54, married and had three children. I now have 5 grandchildren two live in Florida, 3 in Ma. Our youngest son Brian was murdered at age 19 in June of 1989, the worst part of my life. When something like this happens you can do one of two things, drown yourself in misery or try and do positive things hopefully helping others. I chose the latter. I founded and was chapter leader of the North Shore Chapter of Murdered Children and Other Survivors of Homicide Victims which I ran for three years. I also lobbied to change the laws. The most rewarding thing I did was go into the prison system and meet with murderers. I went in to give them a piece of my mind and let them know how much pain they caused their victims families, but after doing that for 3 years, I came away a new person. I think it helped me just as much as it may have helped them. I became an advocate against the death penalty and have been to a few states speaking against it. I believe the one thing that got me through the last 10 yrs. was my faith in God, without him I would have never had the strength to do anything. I believed he pushed me to do a lot of things and gave me the strength and courage to fight back and make something positive out of Brian's death. You can get to know Brian by going to Heaven's Angels in the Garden.
