| The history of Rialos is figured in Cycles. The current year is the ear 30, Fourth Cycle. Each Cycle starts over after one of the Drow Wars. Every thousand years or so, the Dark Elves emerge to conquer the surface kingdoms. So far, they've been repelled four times, but every time it seems a little bit harder, and things are a little bit closer. |

Fourth Cycle
30 years ago, the Drow came again, and were again defeated, this time by a very close margin. During the middle of the war, Ravon and several of his allies vanished, and noone knows where they went. Six of them returned, and managed to win the war. With the help of the Keeper, the forces of good were victorious, although it was a very close battle, and several cities were destroyed. These cities were in what is now known as the Black Plains, where most of the war took place. Now the world is in the process of recovering from the war, which ended 30 years ago. Many of the heroes hold thrones, and Ravon remains missing. The Keeper is locked in his tower, and hasn't been seen since the end of the war. Utar is growing corrupt, and Al-Marosa is horribly disorganized and in chaos. Now is the time when heroes can make legends of themselves, when adventurers can become kings, and when evil lurks in the dark, waiting to be flushed out and destroyed. |
