Generation X?
It can be revived!=3
Rest In Peace, already!=0
Jay Faerber has his first Generation X issue with #45 and his ongoing run begins with #48. He plans to re-establish the characters to what they were at the beginning of the series, and develop them forward from there. He want Jubilee to be a tom-boy, hothead again who rushes into fights yelling "when I was with the X-Men...". He wants M to be the ultimate bitch, snotty and aloof (though in a good way!). He wants to establish a new arch nemesis and he wants to have a lot of fun. He wants to write damn good Generation X stories! Woo-hoo(he's nice too)!!!
If you were Jay, what would you do with Generation X? Do you tend towards Pooka loving, class taking and failing, romance galore or epic adventure? Give us your thoughts!

When Gen X started, it was a great read. We had characters that were kids, not overly experienced in the use of their powers, and they had real personalities. We had the awkwardness of teenagers, but we felt that they would grow and learn. We read that the students at the school would have guest lecturers such as Beast, Forge, Cyclops, Phoenix, etc. We looked forward to seeing the interactions between the two headmasters and their different approaches. For a while we got all these things, well mostly (there was little in class learning) but then they were taken away. We ended up with characters that wore the faces of the character we knew, but they acted entirley different. Since when was Jubilee, someone who had fought major villain with the X-Men such as the Reavers, the Hand, Sabretooth, to name a few, afraid of a scary movie? Thee characterisation was gone but we were left with so many questions? What happened to Skin's headaches, will Jono ever be able to fully revert to
human like he was able to in that annual, why is it that M ( as the twins) knew what happened to Penance and yet she hardly treated her like a sister, what will become of the romance between Jono and Paige and how does Angelo feel about this, what happened to Mondo? If a new writer can return the book to what it started like, then perhaps Gen X can return from the edge of the cliff it is currently at. If not, then may I suggest that someone give Gen X a little push off the edge of the cliff, and let them fall, ending the title. It is better to have no characters then to ruin them beyond all redemption.
So swears the Hunter!!!!
Re-starting GenerationX? I think it's a great idea!
I'm sick of those silly pooka stories! I want GenX to be something cool again, like when it first started out! ~ShockWave~
When Generation X was first started, it was always a fun read. Some of that might have been due to Bachalo's funky art (personally I thought he was at his best around late AoA till Gen X vs. the Toad!!!), but also it was due to good character interaction. M and Jubilee, Banshee and Emma, Husk and Skin, heck even, Paige and Jono were fun to watch. There was mystery, romance, action, and just average kid stuff. If I was on the book, I'd try to focus on the kids in class, or Emma trying to explain physics, or anything that isn't typical superhero stuff! They aren't meant to be fighting world class baddies, so they shouldn't be (at least not all the time). Instead get back to the basics and develop from there. Personally I can't wait for Jay's run. It should be a roller coaster ride! :) -Silver
